Suboye shines at Africa Street Event where fashion, art and culture from the African continent were showcased.
The African Street-Style Festival, is an annual street based event that takes place on the Calvert Avenue and Arnold Circus, located in the heart of Shoreditch, London. The festival has a growing reputation as a place where African creativity is showcased.
Renowned Shoreditch based designer Samson Soboye was one of the designers featuring a retro collection of exclusive designs. As the models came down the catwalk to Fela Anikulapo-Kuti’s music it was clear to see that the designs drew inspiration taking the audience to the seventies era with memories of how many of our parents dressed with short wrappers in rich vibrant materials and Buba sleeves with chunky jewellery and platform heels.
